Real Madrid continue their winning streak. Our team beat Espanyol at the Bernabéu and extended their run of victories in official competition to five in LaLiga and one in the Champions League. The leaders earned all three points with two stunning goals. Militão opened the scoring midway through the first half with a long-range, precise shot that flew into the top corner. Shortly after the break, Mbappé followed suit and scored the second with another powerful strike, this time from the edge of the area. Xabi Alonso's side have now kept a clean sheet in three of their five LaLiga matches.

Xabi Alonso fielded a very attacking line-up and his team's dominance began to pay off midway through the first half. Militão picked up the ball between the midfield and the opposition's area, looked up, and put Real Madrid ahead with a right-footed shot that sailed into the top corner from 30 yards out. The score remained 1-0 at half-time, despite the home side's attempts to extend their lead against a stubborn defence. They came close to doing so in added time with a quick counter-attack in which Vini Jr. ran away from Calero and put the ball on the penalty spot. Dmitrović's goal was left unharmed after Mbappé's shot missed the target.

Everything changed as soon as the teams emerged from the dressing rooms. Vini Jr. passed the ball to Mbappé in the 47th minute and the Frenchman extended the lead with another fine strike, this time from the edge of the area. It was the striker's seventh goal in six games this season and his fifth in LaLiga, making him the league's top scorer. The minutes ticked by with Xabi Alonso's side dominating possession, and in the 66th minute, the third goal could have arrived. Dmitrović saved two consecutive shots from Mbappé and the rebound fell to Vini Jr., who hit the post with his left-footed shot.

Third game without conceding a goal in LaLiga
Real Madrid barely suffered from then until the end, and kept a clean sheet for the third time in five LaLiga games. There were also minutes for Bellingham and Camavinga, who came on in the 89th minute, to get their first involvements of the season.
