Endrick made his debut in Real Madrid's pre-season opener.
Real Madrid began their tour with defeat against a Milan side who were further into their pre-season preparations, as Endrick made his long-awaited debut. Early on, Courtois did fantastically to keep out two close-range efforts by Samu Chukwueze and Nasti, with just four and seven minutes on the clock. Shortly afterwards, our team enjoyed their first chance, a long-range Arda Güler strike that was gathered by Torriani.
The final chance of the first half was also for Real Madrid, as Brahim picked the ball up inside his own half, drove forward and linked up with Endrick, only to see his shot fly narrowly wide of the post. After the break, Samu Chukwueze put the Italians in front, beating Lunin on 55’. Eight minutes later, Milan could have had a second, when Bennacer whipped in a free-kick, but Thiaw's powerful header came back off the crossbar. The minutes ticked by and with 73 on the clock, Lunin did superbly to outwit Pulisic in a one-on-one.
Real Madrid react
A response was necessary now, and our team had a fine chance to level with 83 minutes played. Brahim again initiated a superb individual move, before threading the ball through for Álvaro Rodríguez, who was unable to beat Torriani when one-on-one. Three minutes later, the leveller looked set to come from the boots of Fran García, who did brilliantly to take the ball around Tomori in the box, only to see his shot blocked by Thiaw. From there until the end, Ancelotti's boys continued to push on in search of a goal that just simply would not come. Asencio, Joan Martínez, Palacios and Jeremy de León all enjoyed their first game time for the team against Milan. Next up, Barcelona in New Jersey.
