Real Madrid keep on winning. The Whites, who had three goals disallowed, achieved their third win in as many league games against Mallorca. They had to overcome Muriqi's early goal and did so in a spectacular final section of the first half, crowned with goals from Arda Güler and Vini Jr. in the space of a minute. Xabi Alonso's side now head into the international break in the best possible way: with a clean sweep of wins.

The game started at high tempo and the Whites struck after just six minutes. It was a wonderful pass from Trent from his own half behind the visitors' defence and a stunning finish from Mbappé, but the VAR disallowed the goal due to a millimetric offside against the Frenchman. And from a potential 1-0 lead, Mallorca went 0-1 ahead with their first goal of the game. From a corner in the 18th minute, Muriqi scored when the ball spun into the back of the net off his back. Madrid went in search of an equaliser and twice went close through two shots from the edge of the area by Vini Jr. and Tchoaumeni, which ended up in the hands of Leo Román in the 23rd and 30th minutes.

Madrid press and turn the score around
Everything changed after the hydration break, which saw Real Madrid apply the pressure and pin the visitors back. The hosts equalised courtesy of a neat piece of play in which Carreras laid the ball at the far post for Huijsen to head across and set up Arda Güler, who headed home after 37 minutes. And from the next attack, it was 2-1. Valverde stole the ball in midfield, which prompted a lightning counter-attack by Vini Jr. The Brazilian, on target for the second consecutive match, drove to the edge of the area, cut inside a defender and finished with a left-footed shot. From then until half-time, there were more chances for Xabi Alonso's side. Trent's shot from the edge of the area missed the target by inches in the 42nd minute, Mbappé's effort in the six-yard box skimmed the post in the 44th minute and, in stoppage time, the Frenchman had another goal disallowed for offside.

After the interval, Madrid had a third goal disallowed. Mastantuono feinted to shoot in the 55th minute, beat Darder with a nice cutback and shot, but Leo Román blocked the shot with his right foot and chaos ensued in the area. Valjent's subsequent clearance struck Arda Güler, who scored after the ball again deflected off the Mallorca keeper. The goal was added to the scoreboard, but after reviewing the play on the monitor, José María Sánchez disallowed it for a handball by the Turkish player, whose arms were close to his body.

That third disallowed goal triggered protests from the Bernabéu and encouraged Mallorca, who almost equalised in the 60th minute when Darder's cross was cleared off the line by Trent and Samu Costa's volley five minutes later was met by an acrobatic clearance from Carreras. These were the only two moments of danger for Madrid, who managed to hold on for their third win in the first three matchdays of the league season.
