Real Madrid lose their first home game of the season to Celta.
Real Madrid slipped to defeat against Celta at the Bernabéu, where they had been unbeaten since May. Xabi Alonso's side had chances, but the clearest ones were thwarted by Radu. After the first quarter of an hour, the goalkeeper parried a header from Bellingham from a corner. Shortly afterwards, Militão prevented Pablo Durán from getting through on his own against Courtois, but the centre-back was unfortunately injured in the process.
The clearest chance fell to Güler in the 38th minute. Vini Jr. made a good move to thread a ball into the box, which was collected by Mbappé. The striker laid it off to the Turkish player, but he missed the target and the ball sailed just wide of the post. Madrid pressed in stoppage time and Vini Jr. had a chance to score, but Radu saved his shot and the match went into the break at 0-0.
After the interval, Valverde unleashed a fierce long-range right-footed shot that Radu saved in two attempts. The Whites kept pushing for a goal, but it was Celta who took the lead in the 54th minute with a backheel finish from Williot. In the 64th minute, the Whites were reduced to 10 men when Fran García was shown two yellow cards in quick succession.

Mbappé almost equalised with a lob after getting behind the defence, but the ball looped just over the bar. The Frenchman also had a chance to score from a free kick on the edge of the box, but Radu saved it. In the 86th minute, Gonzalo leapt to head a fine cross from Tchouameni, but his effort was just off target. In added time, referee Quintero González sent off Carreras and Endrick, who was on the bench, and Williot scored the second after some neat interplay.
