Castilla falls in the final preseason match

Real Madrid Castilla could not overcome Zamora in the last match of the preseason, held at the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium. The match began with both teams trying to impose their game and take control of possession. After the first quarter of an hour, our reserve team gained presence in the opponent's half, and Fortea tried his luck with a right-footed shot that Fran Árbol saved with an excellent stretch (17'). From that moment on, the match went on without clear chances from either team, and the scoreboard remained unchanged before halftime.

Second Half
After the break, Zamora came out more aggressive in attack and forced Javi Navarro to make a magnificent double save in the 48th minute against shots from Pau Mascaró and E. Vergés. Five minutes later, Mascaró himself put the visiting team ahead with a right-footed shot from inside the box (0-1). Our team tried to recover from the setback, and Á. Leiva came close to equalizing with a low shot that the Zamora goalkeeper stopped (66'). Castilla pushed until the end but could not find the equalizer.

Julián López de Lerma's team concludes their preparation with a record of three wins, two draws, and one loss. The next fixture for our reserve team will be in official competition: they will visit Teruel on August 31 in the first matchday of Group 2 of the Primera Federación (9:15 pm CEST).
