Goals from Mbappé and Bellingham give our team victory at the Bernabéu to extend their lead at the top of the table.
Real Madrid won the first El Clásico of the season at the Bernabéu. All the goals came in a spectacular first half, with Mbappé putting our team ahead after Bellingham's magnificent assist in the 22nd minute. Fermín equalised in the 38th minute and five minutes later Bellingham made it 2-1. In the second half, the most notable moment was Szczęsny saving Mbappé's penalty in the 51st minute. A deserved victory for Xabi Alonso's side, who extend their lead at the top of LaLiga.
The match began controversially. After two minutes, Soto Grado awarded a penalty for a foul by Lamine Yamal on Vini Jr., but after reviewing the play on the monitor, he reversed his decision. Ten minutes later, there was another controversial moment, which also went in the visitor's favour. Real Madrid's relentless pressure bore fruit again when the ball fell to Mbappé, who, from the edge of the area, didn't think twice and fired a right-footed shot that Szczęsny could do nothing about. Soto Grado didn't allow Barcelona to take the kick-off and disallowed the goal for a millimetric offside by the Frenchman. A tiny part of the Frenchman's boot, according to the image shown on television.
The pace was frenetic and halfway through the first half, Bellingham made the game even livelier by receiving the ball in midfield and providing a spectacular assist for Mbappé. LaLiga's top scorer made the most of his teammate's pass and beat the goalkeeper in a one-on-one in the 22nd minute. 1-0 and another goal for the striker. Our team could even have extended their lead on the half-hour mark. Tchouameni lofted the ball over the Barcelona defence and Huijsen's acrobatic effort was pushed for a corner by Szczęsny, who six minutes later smothered Bellingham's powerful left-footed shot from the edge of the area.
Xabi Alonso's side were dominating, but Barcelona took advantage of a mistake in the build-up play to equalise with a goal from Fermín in the 38th minute. The score remained level for just five minutes. Vini Jr. crossed to the far post, where Militão headed the ball back across goal to give Bellingham an easy finish. 2-1. A goal and an assist for the Englishman. There was even time for Mbappé to find the net again in added time, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

The first half was played at a relentless pace, but the start of the second half was no less intense. Bellingham tried to cross into the box in the 49th minute, Eric García blocked it, the ball then hit the Englishman’s knee and then the Barcelona defender's hand, which was raised. Soto Grado did not award the penalty, but he did so after being called by the VAR referee and to watch the play on the monitor. Mbappé took the penalty and Szczęsny prevented the goal with a fantastic save.
The minutes ticked by and the visitors began to gain the upper hand, although without success. Xabi Alonso's side created more danger with quick attacking transitions. One of these could have led to our team's third goal, but Mbappé's left-footed shot missed the target. Rodrygo's shot in added time did find the target, but Szczęsny's full-stretch save prevented the goal. In the 99th minute, Pedri was dismissed for a second yellow card. A deserved victory for Real Madrid.
