Mbappé scored our team's goal in a match in which De Burgos Bengoetxea failed to award a penalty for a foul by Roca on Rodrygo in the 80th minute.
Real Madrid drew at Montilivi. Xabi Alonso's side came out with a clear game plan: to win the ball back quickly through aggression and high pressing. The chances soon started to come. Arda Güler tried his luck with a shot from the edge of the area that narrowly missed the target in the ninth minute, and two minutes later, Mbappé also had a chance to score with a powerful left-footed shot inside the area that went just over the bar. Midway through the first half, there was another left-footed rocket, this time from a slightly off-balance Vini Jr., but the ball went over.
The home side struggled to escape the pressure being applied by Real Madrid, but they had a double chance in the 26th minute from two shots. The first, from Tsygankov, ended up in the gloves of Courtois, who caught the ball on the second attempt. The second, from Ounahi, failed to find the target. Our team's reaction came through a Militão header that Gazzaniga kept out with a superb save in the 39th minute, and a minute later Mbappé scored, but the goal was not given after De Burgos Bengoetxea reviewed the play on the monitor and blew for an earlier handball by the Frenchman. And from 0-1 it went to 1-0 with a powerful right-footed shot from Ounahi that beat Courtois in added time.
Mbappé equalised
After the break, Militão came close to equalising with another header inside the area, but Gazzaniga again came to the rescue in the 54th minute. Three minutes later, Courtois brilliantly saved a one-on-one with Vanat. Then in the 67th minute, the score was level at 1-1. It came from the penalty spot, converted by Mbappé after Hugo Rincón clearly stamped on Vini Jr. as the Brazilian was driving into the area.
Penalty on Rodrygo
These were Madrid's best minutes, as they continued to create chances and in the 79th minute could have taken the lead with a shot from Vini Jr. that narrowly missed the target. A minute later, Rodrygo was brought down inside the area by a clear foul from Joel Roca, but neither De Burgos Bengoetxea on the pitch nor Pulido Santana in the VAR room awarded a penalty. From then until the end, Real Madrid attacked and attacked in search of a winning goal, which could have come in added time through Mbappé's shot inside the area that grazed the home side's post.
