Real Madrid won their sixth European Super Cup with a 2-0 victory over Atalanta in the final in Warsaw. Our team took the lead with a goal from Valverde in the 59th minute after a great assist from Vini Jr. and Mbappé, who made his official debut as a Madrid player, sealed the title in the 68th minute from a pass from Bellingham, who was voted MVP.

Two and a half months later, the Champions League winners kicked off the 2024/25 season in Warsaw with their first title on the line and the novelty of Mbappé's debut. The game started cautiously between the two sides until the 25th minute when Atalanta were the first to make their intentions clear. They came close to scoring with a cross from De Roon which, after Militão got his head to it, hit the crossbar. Before the break, our team responded in kind with the clearest chance of the first half. Vini Jr. slipped in a good pass from the edge of the area and Rodrygo smashed his left-footed shot against the crossbar.

Valverde opens the scoring
After the break, Courtois kept the Italians at bay when he saved Pasalić's header. The final began to gather pace and our team looked for a goal with quick transitions. Bellingham tried in the 56th minute, but his shot from the edge of the area went high. These were Madrid's best minutes, and this time they were lethal and made it 1-0. Mendy won the ball back in the opposition half and combined with Bellingham, who found Vini Jr on the left flank. The Brazilian skipped expertly past the defender, got to the byline and slipped a perfect pass to the far post for Valverde, who slotted home (59 mins).

Ancelotti' s side were on a roll thanks to a stellar Bellingham. Once again, the Englishman set up Vini Jr, whose shot against Musso was saved by the keeper with a providential hand to keep out the second goal. The Madrid duo continued to generate plenty of danger and the goalkeeper denied Bellingham from close range (66').

Mbappé scores on his debut
The reward for so much persistence came two minutes later and carried Mbappé's stamp. The Frenchman received a great pass from Bellingham in the heart of the box and made no mistake putting the ball into the top left-hand corner. There was no end to the Madrid avalanche but the scoreline ended up 2-0 and our club added a new title to its trophy cabinet: our sixth European Super Cup.
