Real Madrid drew with Elche on their return from the international break. Xabi Alonso's side picked up a point away from home in an evenly matched, fast-paced game. Febas made it 1-0 and Huijsen equalised in the 78th minute after pouncing on a rebound in the area. In the last ten minutes, Álvaro Rodríguez put the home side back in front and Bellingham restored parity with the final score at 2-2.

Real Madrid came out to press their opponents high in the opening minutes. Rodrygo and Mbappé both had shots that went wide, while Courtois prevented Rafa Mir from scoring with a save with his foot. The Madrid threat was constant. Asencio could have scored with a header from a corner, and shortly afterwards, Arda Güler came close to scoring with a long-range shot that grazed the crossbar.

The first half progressed at a frenetic pace. Iñaki Peña denied Mbappé on two separate occasions. First, he was the more effective in a one-on-one and then he cleared the Madrid player's first-time shot from Trent's measured cross from the right. Before the break, Courtois denied André Silva, again with a stop using his foot.

Elche take the lead
Rodrygo tried his luck after the break, but Iñaki Peña remained an inspiration to his team and parried the Brazilian's shot at the near post. In the 53rd minute, Febas crossed the ball in Courtois's vicinity and it found its way into the net after hitting the post to make it 1-0.
Later, Vini Jr. found himself alone in the area, but the defender managed to cut out his dangerous pass to Mbappé.

A high-voltage end to the match
Our team pushed doggedly for the equaliser and found it when Huijsen pounced on a loose ball in the area from a corner kick. With the score at 1-1, the match became an end-to-end affair, and Elche capitalised. Álvaro Rodríguez restored the home side's lead in the 84th minute; however, two minutes later, it was 2-2. At the far post, Huijsen got his head to a free kick from the byline, Peña saved when Bellingham reacted quickest in the box, but Mbappé kept the play alive on the line and teed up the Englishman for an easy finish. In added time, Gonzalo could have sealed the comeback, but his shot went agonisingly wide.
