The league leaders win in Pamplona with a Vini Jr. brace.
Osasuna
FinishedReal Madrid
Real Madrid beat Osasuna with two goals from the Brazilian, one from Carvajal and another from Brahim before the international break.
Real Madrid picked up three important points at El Sadar to remain firmly at the top of LaLiga. They go into the international break with their 22nd win in a match in which Ancelotti reached his 200th win as coach and 900 matches in the First Division. The Brazilian, who has scored six goals in the last four games, opened the scoring to make it 1-0 and Madrid's fourth goal in a match in which Carvajal and Brahim also got on the scoresheet.
It didn't take long for our team to get off the mark. Vini Jr. took just four minutes to beat Herrera. He stole the ball from Catena in the three-quarter area, surged into the box and, after faking out the goalkeeper, masterfully finished to make it 1-0. The joy lasted only three minutes, as Budimir equalised from a corner (7'). In the next move, Vini Jr. came close to doubling the lead, but Herrera saved his shot in the one-on-one.
Carvajal's fourth LaLiga goal of the season
The game was being played at a frenetic pace and Osasuna responded with an Areso strike from distance that Lunin dealt with well. Real Madrid were soon back in front. Brahim played a lofted pass into the box to Valverde, who pulled it back for Carvajal, who struck with the outside of his right foot to make it 2-1 (18 mins). After the half-hour mark, Vini Jr. had another chance to trouble the Osasuna goal when he cut inside from the edge of the area and curled a shot just wide of the keeper's left-hand post.
In the 41st minute, Lunin prevented a 2-2 scoreline with a save from Arnaiz's delivery. Two minutes later, Valverde's fierce cross was deflected by Mojica and it was Herrera who was called into action. The LaLiga leaders continued to dominate after the break and it was 3-1. Lunin played in a long ball and Valverde headed the ball to Brahim, who, after an impressive run, squared up to and beat the keeper with a right-footed effort (60 mins).
Exhibition by Vini Jr.
Madrid did not slow down and, three minutes later, Vini Jr. made it 4-1 to seal another brace. Rüdiger put in a long pass, Valverde gave the ball to the Brazilian, who went almost to the touchline and finished exquisitely with the tip of his right boot. The Brazilian was getting into his stride and soon had another attempt with a right-footed shot in a very similar play to the previous one that went narrowly wide. In the 75th minute, Rodrygo looked for a fifth, but Herrera blocked his shot. Real Madrid could have extended their lead even further with a goal from Lucas Vázquez that was ruled out for offside (88'). Osasuna made it 4-2 through Iker Muñoz and Arda Güler almost scored a great goal when he saw Herrera off his line and shot from his own half, but he was denied by the crossbar.
