FinishedAlmería
Second-half goals from Bellingham, Vini Jr. and Carvajal turned around Almeria's 0-2 half-time lead.
Real Madrid came away with all three points at the Santiago Bernabéu beating Almería thanks to a second-half comeback after the Andalusian side had gone in at half-time with a 2-0 lead. Bellingham made it 1-2 from the penalty spot before Vini Jr scored the equaliser. Carvajal, one of the standout performers, clinched the win in the 99th minute of a game in which referee Hernández Maeso had to go to the VAR monitor on three occasions.
The going got tough from the kick-off as Ramazani scored after just 40 seconds. Our team controlled possession and looked to create danger and Carvajal whipped in a cross in the 34th minute that nobody could get on the end of as Chumi, in his attempt to clear the ball, came close to putting it into his own net. When it looked like the side would go in at half-time trailing 0-1, the game got even more complicated when Edgar scored with a well struck shot from the edge of the area in the 43rd minute.
Great second half
Ancelotti's men were given 45 minutes to turn things around and Joselu, Brahim and Fran García were brought on. Real Madrid came out blazing and the Bernabéu joined them in pushing our team, who reduced the deficit from the penalty spot after Kaiky cleared the ball with his hand inside the box, with Hernández Maeso pointing to the spot after reviewing the play on the monitor. Bellingham slotted home in the 57th minute to make it 1-2. Six minutes later the referee was again at the monitor. Arribas scored, but it was ruled out for a previous foul by Lopy on Bellingham.
Vini Jr leveler
The second half proved to be frenetic and Hernández Maeso was again called by the VAR in the 68th minute. Vini Jr. scored, using his right shoulder to tap home from Tchouameni's assist. The referee initially disallowed it on the basis that the Brazilian had handled the ball, but later awarded it after seeing the play on the monitor. 2-2 and over 20 minutes left to find the winner.
Carvajal sealed the comeback
Our team went on to make it 3-2, thanks to the work of Bellingham in the 77th minute, but it was disallowed due to Fran García being offside. Madrid continued to go in search of the winning goal and it could have come in two consecutive moves. Maximiano kept the Andalusians in it in the 81st minute when he came out on top in a one-on-one inside the area. The second, a minute later, saw Bellingham's bicycle kick narrowly miss the target. Real Madrid poured forward and found the net in stoppage time. Bellingham's header to the far post was headed in by the tireless Carvajal to make it 3-2 and give our team the three points.
