Ancelotti: "LaLiga has been spectacular and we have hardly slipped up"
"We have to put our joy on ice because we have a very important game ahead of us on Wednesday," added the Italian.
Carlo Ancelotti appeared in the Santiago Bernabéu press room to analyse Real Madrid's victory over Cádiz. The coach explained: "We have to wait to make an assessment. LaLiga we've played has been spectacular, we've had a lot of continuity and we've rarely slipped up. The advantage we have now is deserved."
"We have to put our joy on ice because we have a very important game ahead of us in the season. We're all focused on Wednesday's game. The less regular players have given 100 per cent as they did against Real Sociedad. We have to be patient and wait because Wednesday is very close. We have to recover, rest and play our best against Bayern."
Defensive department
"It's been an important piece. We defended well with great collective commitment in which the forwards put in a greater effort than the defence. The injuries we had at the beginning of the season helped us to improve this. But making up for this was not an individual problem, but a collective one. We did that very well."
What has been the most important moment in LaLiga?
"The most important moment was Bellingham's goal against Barcelona, which gave us back the 11-point lead. We have training tomorrow. Everyone can do what they want tonight. We have nothing organised because we are focused on Wednesday's game."
Celebration
"I don't care if it's today or next Sunday's celebration. We deserve to win LaLiga and we'll win it whenever it is."
Objective for the future
"The dressing room is very calm and we'll have time to celebrate properly. Now the objective is to be at 100 per cent for Wednesday's game and we have 90 minutes ahead of us here to be in another final. There is no greater motivation than this and it is an opportunity to close a spectacular season."
How different is it to the LaLiga celebrations two years ago?
"It's a very different situation. Two years ago it was in our hands. If we beat Espanyol we could celebrate. But today it's not like that, it's not worth waiting for. If we have to celebrate, we will do it next Sunday and our fans will understand that. We still haven't won yet and we can't plan anything. We're going home today with peace of mind."
Contribution from the coaching staff
"Davide, Francesco, Simone, Mino and Antonio and other people work very well. The coaching staff is very young and gives me a lot of spirit. Sometimes I can't have that because I'm getting older."
Bellingham
"He's very well, he's fully recovered and scored a goal today. He needed to play a bit like Vini and he'll be at his best on Wednesday."
Militão
"Militão is back, he needs some game time and in these LaLiga games I'll put him in. He's progressing, but he's still not at his best. It's true that today he was much better than in the game a week ago. He's fresher than his team-mates because he hasn't played a game this season."
Transition of the squad
"Güler has played the role he had to play. He's young, he's showing his qualities now and he has already delivered the goods. That's why I wanted to bring in fresh legs today to win. That's what Real Madrid is asking of me: to win, not to give minutes to the youngsters. We have to highlight this transition that started, little by little it's coming together and it's going very well. The youngsters are progressing and the veterans are maintaining a fantastic level."
A great LaLiga at the end of the season
"We have done so well that there are not many 'buts' in LaLiga. There are a few. We haven't played well scoring 100 goals. So tell me about the sea, sailor."
