Kepa spoke in the press room at the Estádio Municipal de Braga ahead of Real Madrid’s clash against the Portuguese side on matchday three of the Champions League 9pm CET: “We return to the Champions League after two good results. We now face Braga twice. It'll be a tough game and they'll make it difficult at their ground. We're in good form, full of confidence and we want to get the three points.”

“I'd describe my two months here as very positive. As a team we're in great form. We've made a good start to the season, even though there's a long way to go. We're on the right track, taking steps forward and improving. The season's long and the marks are given at the end.”

Grandeur and history of Real Madrid
“I'm well aware of the history and grandeur of this club. In every country and city we visit, it's clear from the very first minute what it means to wear the Real Madrid shirt. It's an incredible challenge and situation for any player to wear this shirt. Being surrounded by the best in the world makes it easier to win games.”

On referee Michael Oliver
“We have an English referee. What I can say from my five years there is that there wasn't much talk about refereeing during the week. It'd be a good sign if we were just talking about football other than the refereeing issues. That's what we should be looking at.”

Focus in the dressing room
“In the dressing room we're focused on ourselves, on the game and on the matches. Those are the things we can control. We're not going to talk about the referees and we're going to carry on with our work.”
“Videos are videos. We're focused on playing football. The performances of the referees are there to be seen. We only control what we can control. We're players and our job is to play.”

Post-match analysis
“I tend to follow the same routine in every match, regardless of the successes or mistakes, whether we win or not. I like to analyse every movement and I look at all the elements of the match. I believe in the constant process of improvement. I try not to beat myself up when things don't go well and I don't get all carried away when things go well. I try to analyse the successes and failures along the same lines.”

Future at Madrid
“I said it that day and I still think the same, but now isn't the time to negotiate my contract. We're in October and in the middle of a lot of games. Now the focus is on every game and every training session.”

Playing time in the national team
“I work hard to play for my club and the national team. I'm not going to go into this question. It's a matter for the national team coach. I'm always ready and I'd like to play.”
