Ancelotti: 'I like the commitment and intensity we are showing'
NEWS.
Carlo Ancelotti appeared in the Santiago Bernabéu press room after Real Madrid's match against Getafe on LaLiga matchday four: 'It was a difficult game because we played against a team that defends very well, with a deep defensive line and that closes down very well. It was difficult to find chances and it was even more difficult because we gave away the first goal. This doesn't change my thoughts about Fran García, who has had a very good start to the season. He may have paid for the pressure of the stadium and that's normal.'

'We didn't have many chances in the first half because Getafe defended with a lot of intensity, energy and commitment. The second half was different. We scored early and got the game under control. We had a lot of chances, but without much success. However, we deserved to win with a goal from Bellingham, who is used to scoring.'

Intensity
' I like the commitment and the intensity in the games. We have upped that intensity compared to last year. In this sense, the youngsters bring a lot and to play against Real Madrid you need great intensity because we are capable of maintaining it for 90 minutes.'

Kroos' quality
'If you put Kroos on the pitch you are going to gain in quality in the game and you will have a lot of opportunities in the through ball. His quality is different to Camavinga. Sometimes you have to change and you can't always get it right. The idea was to bring on Alaba to centre more from the left and put more through balls through Kroos. In the last few games when Modrić and Kroos have come on, they have always contributed something. In this period I didn't want to change too much because we have a game every week. When the Champions League starts I will rotate more players because it will be necessary.'

Bellingham
'I'm not surprised by Bellingham's quality. What surprises me is that he has scored so many goals in the first few games. It's quite surprising for everybody and for him. He's a professional and he's very serious. The professionalism of the squad is at a high level and he has the example there. He's adapted very well and has gone on holiday with the rest of the young players. I think it's all good.'

Bellingham's goal target
'He can get to 15 goals because he did it with Dortmund. He excels without the ball and doesn't give it away. He often gets into the box and breaks lines. He's in almost constant attacking movement and that's why he has scored all those goals.'

Debut at the Bernabéu
'He was calm and focused. He was looking forward to playing here and he was excited.'
'Bellingham is a quick learner and I don't have to explain things to him several times. He has a very quick learning ability. We have shown him videos of when he played for Dortmund, what we liked and what we wanted him to continue doing. What has changed is that he makes a lot more movements without the ball in the opponent's area. At Dortmund he received more between the lines.'

Kroos and Modrić
'They are the best, full stop. They have been hampered in the first part of the season, but they are going to be very important for the results and also for the young players and their progress. They have the quality to play in any kind of game because they have experience, energy and quality. For example, the passing quality of Kroos is not found in any other player in the team.'

Santiago Bernabeu
'The atmosphere was spectacular and there is something new. The fans really got behind us and the atmosphere is a bit more closed-in. It's going to be a huge help. It was today and it will be in the upcoming games.'

Great start to the season
'The idea was to start well, but we had a lot of problems because we put in a new system to adapt to Bellingham's characteristics. We also had important injuries like Courtois and Militão, but the team has held up very well and I'm satisfied with that.'

Penalty takers
'Today it was Joselu first and then Modrić. It's usually the player who picks up the ball first, but it doesn't mean he has to be the penalty taker. They might bother the player who has the ball, but he's the one who's going to take the penalty.'

Carvajal
'Carvajal has always delivered. The level he is at right now is that of the best Carvajal. We're talking about the best full-back on the market.'
