Marcelo meets the squad at Real Madrid City: "The team is looking very good"
The Real Madrid legend said hello to Ancelotti and the players at the last training session before travelling to Riyadh.
Marcelo paid the squad a visit at Real Madrid City during the final training session before heading to Riyadh for the Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Atlético (Wednesday, 8pm CET). The Brazilian greeted Ancelotti and the players and then wished them all the best for the challenges that lie ahead in 2024.
The Real Madrid legend, who spent 16 seasons with the club and won 25 trophies, has won the Copa Libertadores with Fluminense and finished runner-up in the Club World Cup. Marcelo spoke to Realmadrid TV after the visit: "This reunion has been fantastic for me. It's been a long time since the last time I was here, almost a year, and I've missed my home."
"The team is looking very good. Madrid are always producing great work. Now they're playing the Spanish Super Cup and I wish them luck. Hopefully they win it".
The Spanish Super Cup
"Thanks to Real Madrid I was able to win five Spanish Super Cups. It's always great to play for Real Madrid. I've been at the Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia with Fluminense. I've just spoken to the players and they look in very good shape and motivated for this tournament."
Semi-final derby
"Hopefully it'll be a nice game for the fans and I hope Madrid win."
Bellingham
"He's my son Liam's hero and he wanted to have his picture taken with him. He's looking very good. He's had a great start. Everybody knows that at Real Madrid there's always room for improvement, but he's had a tremendous start, almost unbeatable."
The Brazilians in the team
"They are all doing very good and very happy. They're getting better every season. Whenever I can I talk to Militão, Rodrygo and Vini Jr. and I try to help them as much as I can."
Ancelotti's support in the Libertadores final
"I spoke to him before the Copa Libertadores final and said he was going to be supporting Fluminense. That's why I wanted to give him the jersey I wore in the final because it was special for me and I know that all the Madrid fans were behind me."
