Linda Caicedo has been included on a shortlist of 16 players in the running to be named FIFA The Best Women's Player 2023. The Real Madrid forward, who has also been nominated for the Ballon d'Or 2023, and whose effort against Germany was voted goal of the tournament at the recent World Cup, is up against the following players: Aitana Bonmatí, Rachel Daly, Kadidiatou Diani, Caitlin Foord, Mary Fowler, Alex Greenwood, Jenni Hermoso, Lindsey Horan, Amanda Ilestedt, Lauren James, Sam Kerr, Mapi León, Hinata Miyazawa, Salma Paralluelo and Keira Walsh.
The winner will be chosen by an international panel made up of coaches and captains of the national teams, a specialist sports journalist from each nation and fans from around the world who register on FIFA.com, with the voting open until 6 October.
