Ceballos: “Our objective was to get a 100%-win record and we achieved that"
“The goal gives me a lot of confidence, I'm very pleased to be able to give the team the three points,” said the scorer of Real Madrid’s third goal.
Ceballos scored the winning goal for Real Madrid against Union Berlin. The midfielder described the importance of the goal: “We're happy to have a 100%-win record in the group stage. We've done it three times in the club's history and on a personal level the goal gives me a lot of confidence. I'm very pleased to be able to give the team the three points.”
“We got as many points as possible. The team came out fired up despite it being an insignificant match, but the DNA of this badge obliges you to win. Our objective was to get a 100%-win record and we achieved that. The team did everything in the best possible way and today we went for the win until the last minute. We're very pleased.”
The deciding factor
“The difference is the good understanding on and off the pitch. Despite the injuries, the team is competing and getting in better shape and this victory strengthens us for the two games we have left before the Christmas break. We're delighted with our 15-match unbeaten run, but the league is very difficult and there are very strong teams in the Champions League.”
The winning goal
“It was a nice pass from Bellingham, I saw that the defender opened his legs a bit and I managed to get it underneath him. Rüdiger told me to hit it like that because the defender opened his legs when he defended. On a personal level, I'm happy. It hasn't been the start of the season I'd hoped for, because I'd never been injured before and I relapsed. The last two games weren't the best either and today I felt more comfortable. What I have to do is to keep playing and contributing to the team as much as possible.”
