It was on 3 December 2002 that our team won the third of their eight world championship titles, added to which it came in the club's centenary year. It was the end of a glorious 2002 in which they won La Novena and the first European Super Cup.
Ronaldo was one of the main stars of the show against Olimpia de Asunción, as he gave Madrid the lead with his goal in the 14th minute. The Brazilian's performance led to him being named MVP in a match in which Guti scored the other goal. The playmaker headed home to make it 2-0 at the Yokohama International Stadium.
