A photo of a young Lucas Vázquez inspired the Bernabéu tifo: "I dreamed of this as a kid, and I experienced it as a man"
In the build-up to the clash with Juventus, the main stand behind the goal at the Bernabéu unfurled a tifo inspired by a photograph of Lucas Vázquez at the stadium as a young boy. The Galician player shared the image on his social media channels with the message: "I dreamed of this as a kid, and I've experienced it as a man. Proud and grateful, always. Though I may be far away, my heart remains there. Thank you for so much, Real Madrid."
Lucas Vázquez arrived at Real Madrid in 2007, at 16 years of age, and played in every level of our academy from U16s through to Castilla. He made his first-team debut in September 2015 and went on to make 402 appearances across 10 seasons, during one of the club's most successful periods. He won 23 titles as a madridista (5 European Cups, 5 Club World Cups, 4 European Super Cups, 4 LaLiga titles, 1 Copa del Rey and 4 Spanish Super Cups) before bringing his time at Real Madrid to an end on July 17th this year.
