Real Madrid beat Sevilla 3-2 in a thrilling match in Trondheim, Norway, on 9 August 2016.
It is eight years since Real Madrid won their third European Super Cup. The city of Trondheim (Norway) was the scene of the victory over Sevilla (3-2) on 9 August 2016. Our team took the lead with a powerful shot from Asensio, who was making his official debut as a Real Madrid player that night.
Sevilla turned the result around thanks to goals from Franco Vázquez and Konoplyanka, but Madrid did not give up and, thanks to a header from Ramos in 93', sent the match into extra time, where they won the trophy. Carvajal stepped up in extra time and scored the deciding goal with a great finish. This was our second victory over Sevilla in the European Super Cup after the 2014 edition.
