On 14 September 1958, Ferenc Puskas made his first competitive appearance for Real Madrid. The match ended in a 1-2 league win over UD Las Palmas and marked the first of his 262 games in Madrid colours. His innate goalscoring ability was his standout quality, so naturally his debut goal for the club didn't take long to materialise. It came in the second league clash, when he smashed a hat-trick against Sporting (5-1).

Puskas is one of the greatest forwards in Real Madrid history, with 242 goals to his name. Among his most legendary performances is the final that yielded the fifth European Cup against Eintracht Frankfurt, when he net an incredible four goals. During his time at our club, he won 3 European Cups, 1 Intercontinental Cup, 5 LaLiga titles and 1 Copa de España.
