Pocognoli: “Real Madrid is a great club but we're focused on ourselves”

Sébastien Pocognoli and Thilo Kehrer spoke to the media gathered in the Bernabéu press room ahead of the clash between Real Madrid and Monaco on Champions League matchday 7 (Tuesday, 9:00 pm CET). The Monaco coach began with some words for the victims of the train crash in Córdoba: “On behalf of Monaco, I'd like to extend my condolences to the victims of the train accident.”
“I don’t think there’s any good or bad time to face Real Madrid. They’re a great club that’s under constant pressure every day. We have to focus on playing well regardless of the opponent.”
“I'm most concerned with our team. What happens at Real Madrid isn’t such a priority. We have to focus on our game and not think about what’s happening at Real Madrid. They’re a great club and they’ll want to do a good job tomorrow, but I have to focus on my team.”
Type of game he's expecting
“We expect a Real Madrid team that wants to have the ball. That style of play won't affect us. We don't try to sit back or play defensively. We have to be smart, set up well off the ball, and attack.”
Kehrer: “We're motivated”
“We're working hard in training and we're motivated. We're highly focused on our game and the performance we want to deliver. If we do that, we have a good chance of getting a positive result.”
On Mbappé
“Kylian's game improves every year. He's becoming more mature, he's got a different perspective to when he was at PSG. His quality is indisputable, he's a top-level striker.”
