Today marks the 11th anniversary of a historic milestone for Real Madrid: the 32nd LaLiga title. On 2 May 2012, our team mathematically secured the title after beating Athletic Club at San Mamés 0-3 with two games still to play. The madridistas got the game on the right track in the first 20 minutes with goals from Higuaín and Özil. Cristiano Ronaldo would round off the scoring after half-time.

This league is remembered for some extraordinary statistics. Never before in LaLiga had a team reached 100 points, on top of that, they also set the current record of 121 goals. The team also surpassed the previous best record for total wins 32 and away games won 16.

Real Madrid ended the 2011/12 season nine points clear of second-placed Barcelona. Individually, Cristiano Ronaldo was the team's top scorer 46 goals. That squad was coached by Mourinho, who won the league in his fourth different country: Portugal, England, Italy and Spain.
