Modrić overtakes Benzema as Madridista with second most European Cup appearances

Luka Modrić made his 134th appearance for Real Madrid in the European Cup against Arsenal, which moved him past Benzema (133) to become the second player with the most appearances for the club in this competition. Only Casillas is ahead of the midfielder with 152 appearances.
Of his 134 appearances for Real Madrid in Europe's top club competition, 84 have resulted in wins, 23 draws and 27 defeats. After today's match, the captain also overtook Benzema and Manuel Neuer as the seventh player in terms of number of appearances in this competition (153). Modrić is a European Cup legend as one of only five players with six European Cup trophies to his name, having lifted the trophy in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022 and 2024.
