The Santiago Bernabéu held a minute's silence before the start of the Real Madrid vs. Real Sociedad match in memory of Rafael Rullán, a great of both Real Madrid and European basketball. Our players are wearing black armbands.
Rafael Rullán defended Real Madrid colours for 18 seasons. In those two decades from 1969 to 1987, he won 3 European Cups, 4 Intercontinental Cups, 1 European Cup Winners' Cup, 14 Leagues, 9 Spanish Cups and 1 Spanish Super Cup. Rullán, who dedicated practically his entire life to Real Madrid, died on 4 May at the age of 73.
