Minute's silence held at the Bernabéu

The Bernabéu observed a minute’s silence prior to kick-off in the LaLiga matchday 18 clash between Real Madrid and Betis in memory of the victims of the tragic fire in Switzerland.

Tributes were also paid to Enrique Collar, one of Atlético’s biggest legends and a prominent Spanish football figure; Carles Vilarrubí, Barcelona vice president from 2010 to 2017; Fernando Martín, coach of Valencia B’s women’s team, and three of his children, who died in a boat accident in Indonesia; Amelia del Castillo, the first woman president of a football club in Spain’s history (Atlético de Pinto); and Luis Infante, a legendary editor of Marca sports newspaper.
