Lunin: "The Copa is different, they're always tough games"
"Being Real Madrid captain makes me incredibly proud," our goalkeeper told Realmadrid TV.
Lunin delivered a fine display against Talavera, as he captained the team and made sure of the result with a superb stop in the final minute of the game. Following the final whistle, the keeper told Realmadrid TV: “It was important to qualify because the Copa is different and they're always difficult games. I would like to have kept a clean sheet, but we're into the Round of 16 and we have to keep fighting for the Cup."
“Given that half the squad was out, I was named captain, but being Real Madrid captain is always a source of pride. There is a lot of hard work and time put in behind the scenes. I'm grateful to my teammates and the whole club, who have helped me to get here."
The debutants
“I'd like to congratulate them on their debuts. They did a great job, they were calm and sure of themselves. They played today because of the great job they've been doing for a long time, both for Castilla and in first-team training."
Talavera fans
“That's one of the reasons why I say the Copa is different. We see their people come out, the joy on their faces. It's a beautiful day, a celebration for them. It's great to be involved in these kinds of games."
