Franco Mastantuono got his name on the scoresheet at the Ciudad de Valencia to record his first madridista goal. He found the net on 23 September, the same day that Alfredo Di Stéfano scored his debut goal for our team, 72 years ago. The forward discussed his emotions with Realmadrid TV: "They told me when I came in, it's unbelievable. It makes me incredible proud to share that day with him. Of course, I wouldn't compare myself to such a great player, but these kinds of small details are lovely. It's a special feeling and an incredible moment. I've been waiting for tonight for a while and luckily it happened for me. And the team got a great result, so that's really positive, I'm really happy."
The goal
"Vini started the move really well and he looked across to the other side and spotted me. Fortunately, I was able to finish well. I'd missed two golden opportunities that were easier, but the main thing is that I'm really happy to have got the goal."
What does the coach ask of him?
"He asks me to play out on the right, cutting inside. He wants me to link up with my teammates and get defenders one-on-one - and I have to help out defensively too. He asks for several things and I feel great and eager to deliver. I hope that helps the team keep winning and I can keep playing."
