Lunin: "Beating a team like City gives you a boost"
"It’s always easier to work after a win, so I hope we continue like this," said the goalkeeper.
Andriy Lunin came on after the break and made great saves during the Real Madrid victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium (1-2), securing a place in the quarterfinals: “It’s a shame about Thibaut. We always seem to have bad luck with injuries. We knew we were going to have a tough match, that City, even with 10 players, remains a top team. But we delivered, advanced to the quarterfinals, and now we need to keep going and prepare for the next match.”
Opponent's chances
“As a goalkeeper, you always want to deny the opponent any chances. You aim for a clean sheet and no shots at all. This is the Champions, this is City, and we knew what kind of game to expect. Obviously, there are moments when you’re going to struggle here.”
Turning point
“Beating a team like City gives you a boost, and hopefully, it puts us on a good trajectory. It’s always easier to work after a win, so I hope we continue like this and keep improving.”
Will you play the next match against Atlético?
“I don’t know. I think they need to talk to the medical staff. My job is the same as always: prepare for every match, be ready, and contribute as much as I can.”
