Gonzalo captained Spain U21 to a comfortable victory over San Marino in a European Championship qualifier. The Real Madrid player was in the starting line-up at the Ángel Carro stadium in Lugo and played 59 minutes. With this victory, the Spanish remain unbeaten leaders in Group A. Their next match will be on Tuesday against Romania.
The Spanish team took the lead through Virgili in the 19th minute and, before half-time, Miguel Carvalho increased the lead (46'). Seven minutes after the restart, Virgili completed his brace and Iker Bravo made it 4-0 in the 68th minute. Guiu and Jesús Rodríguez scored two goals in three minutes (76' and 79') and Pablo García rounded off the scoring in the 87th minute.
