Carlos Espí has been called up by Luis de la Fuente to join the Spanish national team for the last two Nations League matches during this break. The madridista forward, who was training with the U-21 team, joins the squad as a replacement for the injured Ferran Torres and makes his debut in the senior team's list.
Espí recently played in two qualification matches for the 2027 U-21 European Championship and was a key player in the victory against San Marino (0-13), where he scored five goals. Spain, which also includes Huijsen and Cucurella in the squad, will face the Czech Republic in Oviedo (Saturday, October 3; 8:45 pm CEST; La1) before wrapping up their commitments against Croatia in Split (Tuesday, October 6; 8:45 pm CEST; La1).
