Bellingham, MVP of the match: "We've improved a lot of things from the other day"
NEWS.

Jude Bellingham was voted the best player in the game between Real Madrid and Pachuca on matchday two of the Club World Cup group stage. The English midfielder scored the game's first goal in the 35th minute and said after the final whistle: "It was a good win for the team, we played very well. We improved on a lot of things from the other day. We're very happy, but now we want more."

"The truth is that the game got difficult after Asencio was sent off. He's a young defender, so it's normal, it's no big deal. It's important to change the system when the coach tells you to, and we had to take responsibility for that. We had to communicate with each other to make it easier for the team. Then we had to weather the storm a bit. They had several shots on goal and Courtois was magnificent. We won. It wasn't a perfect game, but we can keep working. The coach's ideas are fantastic and we have to keep working in the direction he wants".

Chats with Xabi Alonso
"I talk to him a lot, every day. He's a very good coach. He has very good ideas about how to play, in defence and in attack. He's really important for us and for this new chapter. I'm very happy with him".

Shoulder problem
"It's going well. I've reached the point where the pain isn't so bad. I was fed up of playing with the sling, it's tiring. And above all, it's very hot, I'm losing weight from sweating so much. As I said, I have surgery planned for after the tournament, after the final. I've been waiting for a long time and my patience is running out. The physios and doctors are being incredible, they're helping me a lot every game. I want to feel free again with my shoulder."

Preferred position on the pitch
"It's really difficult to say. I prefer to be involved in the game by touching the ball as much as possible, whether that's further forward or further back. Further back, I can also get on the ball earlier, and if I'm further forward, the ball will come to me. In the last few games of last season, I was able to be really involved in the game by playing further forward. I try to play as well as I can wherever I am.”
