The Santiago Bernabéu rocked with the European Champion's Party
The fans filled the stadium to celebrate La Decimoquinta with the team.
The final stop in the La Decimoquinta celebrations was the Santiago Bernabéu. The team and the fans celebrated another continental trophy together after visits to the Almudena Cathedral, the institutions and Cibeles. The players enjoyed another unforgettable moment in a spectacular stadium that was filled to capacity to celebrate with the European champions.
Presented by Miki Nadal with a stunning light and sound display, the party began by looking back at the 15 European Cups in football on the giant screens of the large central cube and showing exciting images of the arduous and now historic road to the title won in the final at Wembley. Immediately afterwards, and to the chant of ‘Champions, champions’, the presentation of Carlo Ancelotti's coaching team and the heroes of La Decimoquinta followed.
The public address system introduced the squad members one by one, who made their way along a walkway and received a standing ovation from the fans as they took to the pitch. Captain Nacho was the last to make his appearance, carrying the fifteenth European Cup. They all lifted the trophy together in the centre of the pitch to share it with the fans in the midst of a fireworks display.
Words of thanks
Ancelotti, Nacho and Carvajal all took to the microphone to thank the fans. "Nights like these are spectacular. We will all continue to fight, compete, win and dream with you and for you. This stadium is capable of producing an energy that ensures we don't give up and think about doing unthinkable things", said the coach. The captain explained: "It's been a spectacular season. I'm very proud of this team and the fans. We've won 15 European Cups and we're the kings of Europe, the world and the universe".
MVP of the final, Carvajal, said: "Thank you for the support. This team is outstanding. The feeling of winning a European Cup with this jersey is unique". Kroos, who played his last game as a Real Madrid player in London, was given a special mention, the squad sang the La Décima song, a lap of honour and photos were taken with la Decimoquinta to round off another historic season for the king of Europe, for the best club in the world.
