Austria were too strong for San Marino at Vienna's Ernst Happel Stadium, winning in convincing fashion to move top of World Cup qualifying Group H. Alaba played 63 minutes as he captained his side to a three points that puts them three ahead of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Alaba's assist for Schmid created the first goal of the game and set the hosts on the way to a 6-0 lead at the break thanks to a Posch brace and goals for Arnautovic, Laimer and Gregoritsch. Three more for Arnautovic and another for Wurmbrand in the second half closed out the game. Next up for Austria in this international break is a trip to face Romania.
