Brahim played a key role in Morocco's win over Gabón in their opening African Cup of Nations qualifier. The forward was named in his nation's starting XI, playing until the 74th minute. With 59 minutes on the clock, he made it 3-1 to his team when he pounced on a parry by the opposition goalkeeper and turned home. The goal is the madridista's first for Morocco. 
Ziyech struck a brace from the penalty spot in the first half to make it 2-0, before Aubameyang cut the deficit, also from the penalty spot. With 82 minutes played, El Kaabi rounded off the win when he made it 4-1. Morocco's next clash comes against Lesotho at the Agadir Stadium on Monday 9 September (8:00pm CEST).
