Only four days have passed since Real Madrid lifted their sixth European Super Cup and successfully kicked off the 2024/25 season. The Whites begin their defence of last season's LaLiga title at Son Moix tonight. Ancelotti's side face Mallorca in their league opener, and will be looking for their first three points (9:30pm CEST).

Getting off to a good start is the objective our team has in mind, as they visit a difficult ground but brimming with confidence after winning the first title of the season in Warsaw. In these first few weeks of competition, Madrid have three more league games ahead of them before the international break: Valladolid at home (Sunday 25, 5:00pm CEST), Las Palmas away (Thursday 29, 9:30pm CEST) and Betis at the Bernabéu (Sunday 1, 9:30pm CEST).

‘We start LaLiga with an immense desire to try and retain the title,' said Ancelotti at the pre-match press conference. The Italian has called up the following players for the LaLiga opener. Valverde and Mbappé, the scorers of the goals against Atalanta that sealed the European Super Cup, are also included in the list. The Frenchman could make his first LaLiga appearance.
