Lille-Real Madrid: first-ever meeting between two teams on first Champions League away day
Ancelotti's side will be aiming for their second win in the competition at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy (9 pm CEST).
The European champions get October underway with the return of the Champions League, a competition in which they began their title defence with a win at the Santiago Bernabéu against Stuttgart. This evening at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium, the Whites will be playing their first match against Lille, who they have never faced before in European competition (9 pm CEST).
Ancelotti's charges will be targeting a second consecutive win in the Champions League to stay unbeaten this season. The Madridistas, who were one of only 15 teams to take all three points on the opening day, have a record of seven wins and three draws so far this campaign.

“We have to score points and we're here to do that, considering the quality of our opponents,” said Ancelotti in the press conference ahead of the clash which sees these two sides meet for the first time. Madrid will be hoping to extend their goal-scoring exploits: the Whites have scored in 10 official matches this season, with a total of 22 goals. The Italian coach has named his squad for the clash and will be without Brahim, Alaba, Ceballos and Courtois. Meanwhile, Mbappé has been included in the list.
Lille
The French side will be keen to get their first points of the competition tonight after losing 2-0 to Sporting de Portugal on the opening matchday. At home, they are proving difficult to beat and have lost only one of their five fixtures, with three wins and a draw to their name. Jonathan David and Edon Zhegrova are their top scorers, with seven and six goals respectively.
