Real Madrid-Fiorentina: first preseason friendly

The 2026-27 Real Madrid season kicks off under the leadership of José Mourinho. After three weeks of training at the Ciudad Real Madrid, the team led by the Portuguese coach will play its first preseason friendly this evening against Fiorentina at the Wörthersee Stadion in Klagenfurt (Austria). The match will begin at 6:00 pm and will be broadcast live and exclusively on Realmadrid TV and RM Play.

The match will serve as an opportunity for our team to continue preparations for the official competition, which begins on Saturday, August 22, against Espanyol. Dumfries and Carlos Espí are part of Mourinho's squad list.

Friendlies
Austria marks the start of a series of preparation matches with four stops. In addition to this evening's game, there is a match next Saturday against Ferencvaros in Budapest (7:00 pm), the LXXXI edition of the Teresa Herrera Trophy on August 12 (9:00 pm), and four days later, a match against Schalke 04 in Gelsenkirchen (5:00 pm).

Real Madrid has previously visited Klagenfurt, located in the southern part of the country near the Slovenian border, during the 2021 preseason to face AC Milan. This evening, the team returns to Austria a year after defeating WSG Tirol in Innsbruck last summer in another friendly. 

The Opponent
Facing Real Madrid will be Fiorentina from the Serie A. This will be Fabio Grosso's team’s fourth preseason match, having defeated Watford (0-1) and Gubbio 1910 (1-0), but lost to Queens Park Rangers (3-2).
