Real Madrid have another date with history and will be looking to increase their hegemony in Europe. Borussia Dortmund and Wembley are the latest rival and setting on the road to la Decimoquinta (the 15th) (9:00pm CEST). It is an unprecedented final, as it is the first time that both teams will meet in the match for the most coveted title: the Champions League.
To reach this important date on the calendar, Ancelotti's side have had to overcome tough qualifying rounds against Bayern MünchenManchester City and Leipzig. And their record has been brilliant, as they have not lost a single game in this edition of the Champions League and have a record of eight wins and four draws.
First final at Wembley
Madrid will try to put the best end to a great season after winning LaLiga and the Spanish Super Cup. Our team will be playing in its 18th European Cup final and it will be the first time that the trophy will be played at Wembley, the stadium that will host the eighth final in its history in this competition.
"I am confident because the team has shown fantastic quality all season," Ancelotti said at the pre-match press conference. The Italian is facing his sixth European Cup final as coach and leads a squad that includes  NachoModrićCarvajal and Kroos. All four could equal the legendary record of six European Cups won by Gento. They are joined in the squad by Vini Jr. and Rodrygo, Madrid's top scorers in the competition with 5 goals each. Another player not missing from the list is Bellingham. The Englishman, who has scored 23 goals this season, will be looking to add to his continental tally on home soil.
Borussia Dortmund
The German side go into tonight's game having beaten PSG in the semi-final, Atletico in the quarter-finals and PSV in the last 16. They also topped Group F. The Germans will try to win their second European Cup after winning it in 1997 and this is the third final in their history. Füllkrug, with 3 goals, is the top scorer in this Champions League for a team in which Adeyemi, Brandt and Sancho, among others, are also outstanding.
Precedents
This will be the 15th time the two teams have met in the European Cup, but the first time in a final. The historical record is in favour of our team with six wins, five draws and three defeats. Real Madrid won the last two meetings in the Group Stage of the 2017/18 season.
