1-3: Castilla beat San Fernando away
MATCH REPORT.Alberto Navarro

Real Madrid Castilla secured a great win over San Fernando on their visit to the Estadio Iberoamericano 2010. Raúl's side took the lead in the 27th minute thanks to a spectacular header from Álvaro, only for Carlos Blanco to equalise before the break. Our reserve team were the better side in the second half, in which they were denied a clear penalty when Álvaro was held back and in which the striker also hit the post. However, they did manage a deserved win in the closing minutes. Palacios scored the second in the 86th minute with a cross-shot and Álvaro scored his brace to seal the victory in stoppage time.

Our reserve team were robust and able to counter the home side's early pressure and matched that defensive effort with an effective performance before the half hour mark. David González crossed from the left flank and Álvaro beat the San Fernando defence to head the ball into the net with a sensational header. Castilla took the lead with their first goal of the game, and from that point on they began to string together chances. Cuenca crossed in the 35th minute and Nico Paz's shot ended up in the hands of goalkeeper Egoitz Arana, who was again on target in the 44th minute from the Real midfielder's shot from the edge of the area.

Chances
The visitors had another chance before the break. Álvaro flicked on a throw-in and Nico Paz's header was again saved by the home keeper. Our reserve team had deserved to extend their lead, but the equaliser came in stoppage time. The move was preceded by a foul on David González. From there, a counter-attack started, Pau Martínez crossed from the right flank and Carlos Blanco headed in the equaliser.

Clear penalty on Álvaro
The first chance after the break fell to our team. Álvaro controlled with his chest on the edge of the area, beat a defender with a sombrero and his shot ended up in the hands of Egoitz Arana in the 55th minute. It was the prelude to the most controversial play of the match. It came three minutes later. Álvaro himself controlled inside the area and, with his back turned, was grabbed by José Carlos. It was a clear penalty that Martínez Montalbán did not award. Castilla were dominating and Álvaro had the chance to bag his second in the 70th minute. The striker put pressure on the home keeper as he was about to play a long ball, the ball hit him and crashed against the post.

Palacios and Álvaro seal the win
Our reserve team was not having any luck until the last few minutes when they got their just reward. The 1-2 came in the 82'. Álvaro provided the assist and Palacios, perfectly positioned, put Castilla ahead with a cross-shot. In stoppage time, and with the home side going forward, the Uruguayan striker scored his brace after a quick counter-attack to seal a vital victory for Raúl's side.
