Castilla draw in Ibiza
Ibiza
FinishedRM Castilla
It was a solid display from the academy side, who have taken seven of the last nine points available.
Real Madrid Castilla picked up a point in Ibiza to continue their impressive progress in this closing stretch of the season. Our team, who have taken seven of the last nine points available, were solid throughout and barely gave the team sitting in third place a sniff. Raúl's boys even upped the pressure late on and could have won the game.
The hosts enjoyed more of the ball in the first half but both teams had a fantastic opportunity to open the scoring. The first fell to the Ibiza team, with just over 15 minutes gone, but Cañizares got the better of Suleiman in the one-on-one. Our boys hit back on 23’ with a swift transition started by David González and finished by Álvaro with a shot from the edge of the box that whistled just wide of the target.
The second half was a far more even affair, with very few chances for either side, aside from Cedric's spinning effort that was easily gathered by Cañizares on 66’, and a dangerous Vinicius Tobias cross flashed across goal in the 89th minute.
