Castilla lose against Mérida
RM Castilla
FinishedMérida
Raúl's side were unable to get the goal in the match played at the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium.

Castilla were beaten at home by Mérida. The reserve team created chances, but could not come back from Llàcer's goal at the start of the second half. Castilla were the better side in the opening stages of the game. The first chance came in the 3rd minute when Nico Paz's free-kick was cleared off the line by Palomares. Mario Martín then came close to scoring on two occasions. First with a low shot that the keeper saved, and then with a header from a corner that went over. Madrid dominated for half an hour, but Mérida began to get closer to the home goal and had a chance to get the first goal with a shot from Chuma that struck the post.
The first half ended goalless despite Castilla's efforts and Mérida went ahead through Llàcer (46') at the start of the second half. Our team then went on the attack with the aim of turning the scoreline around.
They almost managed to do so with a header from Álvaro in the area that went wide (58'), and later with a shot from Edgar that the goalkeeper saved (69'). As the minutes went by, the game opened up, but the score remained unchanged. Our team now looks ahead to their trip to Algeciras in the next matchday (Saturday, 4pm).
