Castilla lose in Algeciras

Real Madrid Castilla lost against Algeciras on Primera Federación league matchday 24. Our team failed to pick up any points away from home in a match in which the home side were very effective and made the most of their chances. The goals came from Javi López-Pinto (28' and 78') and Turrillo (52').

It was an even game in the early stages, but it was Madrid who had the most dangerous chances. The first warning came from Theo, whose shot from the edge of the area with the outside of his boot went over the bar. A few minutes later, Lavín cleared Gonzalo's cross with his fists just before Álvaro could get his head to the ball. Castilla dominated, but it was Algeciras who took the lead. Javi López-Pinto beat Cañizares in the one-on-one and placed his shot just inside the post (28').

In the second half, the home side widened the gap through Turrillo, who took advantage of a dead ball in the area after a throw-in (52'). Our team could have pulled one back with a shot from Carrillo that went just wide of the woodwork. However, shortly afterwards, Javi López-Pinto scored Algeciras' third (78'). Aparicio hit the crossbar in the dying embers and the game ended 3-0. Raúl's side take on Real Murcia at the Di Stéfano next Saturday (4:00pm CET).
