Arbeloa's side failed to pick up any points on Primera Federación matchday 13.
Real Madrid Castilla lost to Unionistas de Salamanca in their Primera Federación matchday 13 fixture at the Municipal Reina Sofía. Both teams played with great intensity from the start, but Unionistas took the lead in the 16th minute through Valles. Madrid's response was immediate: Valdepeñas came close to equalising with a powerful header that was saved by the opposing goalkeeper.
The reserve team maintained the initiative, but came up against a solid defensive block from the Salamanca side, which shut down the space to make passes. Leiva tried a shot from the edge of the area in the 31st minute, but it went wide. Before the break, Unionistas pressed forward in attack, but the score remained unchanged.
Arbeloa brought on Pol Fortuny and Diego Aguado after the break. The equaliser could have come through Yáñez, but his shot was pushed away by Marino. In the 77th minute, Velasco Arbaiza awarded Unionistas a penalty for a handball by Joan Martínez. The referee was unable to review his decision because the stadium's recording system lost power at that moment. He waited two minutes and, as nothing had changed, awarded the penalty, which Olmedo converted to make it 2-0. Four minutes later, A. Gómez made it 3-0. Castilla already have their sights set on their next fixture against Barakaldo.
