Our team took three points at the Estadio O Couto with goals for Palacios, Valdepeñas and Loren Zúñiga.
Real Madrid Castilla came away from their visit to the Estadio O Couto on Primera Federación matchday eight with all three points. Arbeloa's boys took the win in a game that was still goalless at the break, as Ourense were reduced to 10 men when Amín was shown a straight red card (45’+8). In the second half, Palacios, who has struck four goals in his last three games, put the madridistas in front. Valdepeñas and Loren Zúñiga, from the spot, then made sure of the result. The hosts converted a spot-kick on 91’, but Kensley's goal wasn't enough to worry Castilla.
The game got underway in cagey fashion. Yáñez, who came on in place of the injured Roberto after just 15 minutes, enjoyed the first chance of the game with his first involvement. He got off a quick shot across goal from inside the box, which the defender did well to turn behind. The Galician outfit then responded through F. Carmona, but his long-range effort was kept out by Fran González (19’). The goalkeeper was alive to the danger again just nine minutes later, stopping David Muñoz's powerful header. Ourense were piling the pressure on, but our shot-stopper was equal to the task. With half an hour gone, the hosts carved out two quick counters, but again Fran González was on hand to keep Amín out with two more fine saves. Before the teams headed down the tunnel, D. Jiménez tried his luck from the edge of the box, but Álvaro gathered at the second attempt. Then, in the closing seconds of the half, Arbeloa called on the FVS (Football Video Support) after Amín elbowed D. Jiménez: the review resulted in a red card for the offender.
Castilla react well
In the second period, Castilla stepped on the gas as they looked to make their numerical advantage count. The best chance so far came on 53’, when Yáñez crossed from the right, Álvaro parried Manuel Ángel's effort and Cestero crashed the loose ball off the bar. Four minutes later, though, the academy side made no mistake. Joan Martínez won the ball back in his own half, Manu Serrano whipped a cross into the opposition box, which was punched clear by the goalkeeper, but Palacios pounced on the rebound and turned the ball into the net.
Ten minutes later, Castilla doubled their lead through Valdepeñas, who expertly converted a wicked D. Jiménez cross. The team wanted more, and as Loren Zúñiga burst into the box, he was brought down by F. Carmona, and the referee pointed to the spot. The forward dusted himself off and tucked home from 12 yards to make it 0-3. With normal time at an end, Ourense scored their own penalty kick, Kensley making sure after Manu Serrano had made a foul in the area. It wasn't about to affect the result though and Castilla took all three points.
