Castilla lose in Mérida

Real Madrid Castilla lost to Mérida in their Primera Federación matchday 11 fixture, which was played at the Estadio Romano José Fouto. The match began at a frenetic pace. In the 7th minute, Yáñez had a chance to put our team ahead, but his shot went slightly wide. In the 25th minute, Thiago tried his luck with a left-footed shot inside the area that missed the opponent's goal by a whisker.

Castilla were the better side. The reserve team kept pushing, but Mérida made it 3-0 after an unfortunate own goal by Valdepeñas. The match ended in the worst possible way for Castilla. David Jiménez was sent off for a tackle on Vergés and in the melee that ensued on the pitch, Rubén Ruipérez also sent off Manuel Ángel and Arbeloa.
