Real Madrid Castilla picked up all three points at the Alfredo Di Stéfano after coming past Cacereño in their Primera Federación matchday 12 fixture. Following a goalless first half played under driving rain, Arbeloa's lads made sure of victory after the break. Álvaro Ginés, who was making his debut, netted the first with 79 minutes played, before Palacios sealed the result from the penalty spot, making it 2-0 on 85’. It was the fourth home win in a row for Castilla without conceding a single goal.

Loren Zúñiga enjoyed the first chance when he headed a Manu Serrano cross towards goal, but the opposition goalkeeper kept him out (7’). Cacereño responded through Iván Fernández, who tried his luck with a fierce drive, which Mestre gathered without issue. With quarter of an hour played, Diego Aguado could have opened the scoring, but saw his left-footed rocket crash into the side netting. One minute later, Cacereño again tested Mestre, who came out on top in a one-on-one with Iván Fernández (17’). The intense rainfall was making it difficult for either side to craft any real chances of note, until Palacios had the best opportunity of the half on 46’, bending a fine free-kick onto the upright.

The goals finally arrive

Castilla stepped it up a gear in the second half as they chased the game's winning goal. Palacios came close on 58’ following some fine play by Thiago, but Diego Nieves kept his effort out. Four minutes later, the visiting goalkeeper did well to turn a Bruno Iglesias shot behind. Our team were relentless in pursuit of their objective, and ultimately it was Álvaro Ginés who would break the deadlock. Pol Fortuny burst down the left flank and sent a lovely cross into the box for the forward to head home and make it 1-0 on his debut. Five minutes from the end, Palacios then converted a spot-kick after Yáñez was brought down. Another three points and the strong home form continues.
