MATCH REPORT.Eduardo Olivera

Real Madrid Castilla bring the 2024-25 season to its conclusion. Raúl's men took a point from Alcoyano on their visit to El Collao in the match in the last round of Primera Federación fixtures. Both teams had several chances to take the lead, but in the end, the encounter was evenly matched. With this result, the Madrid reserve team finish the competition in sixth place in Group 2 with 54 points.

Alcoyano, needing three points to avoid relegation, went in search of a goal from the opening whistle and created the first chances of the game, albeit failing to create any clear danger. Madrid's first chance came in the 36th minute, when David Ruiz's shot from the left side of the area was pushed wide by Jaume Valens between the sticks.

No sooner had the second half started when Víctor Muñoz could have opened the scoring in the 48th minute with a low left-footed shot from inside the area that the rival goalkeeper deftly cleared off the line. On the hour mark, the home side stepped up a gear and took control of the ball. Despite their efforts, Piñeiro prevented them from taking the lead with two fantastic stops in the 70th minute. In the last quarter of an hour, the home side were reduced to ten men after Primi’s foul on BabaPalacios could have given Castilla the win in the 89th minute with an excellent free-kick from the edge of the area that crashed against the crossbar. In the end, Castilla end the season with a draw.
