Goals from Nico Paz and Peter secured all three points against San Fernando in a superb performance from the Madrid reserve team.
Real Madrid Castilla edged out San Fernando at the Alfredo Di Stéfano in matchday 15 of the league season. Raúl's side, who outplayed their opponents at the Di Stéfano, took the lead in the 61st minute courtesy of a great goal from Nico Paz, who was on target again four days after making his first-team debut in the Champions League. San Fernando pulled level in the 78th minute from a set piece, but Peter made it 2-1 in the 83rd minute to secure an important win for our team as they continue to climb the table.
Castilla were quick to control possession and dominated their opponents, who looked well organised in defence. The Andalusian outfit kept it tight, but Raul's side created clear chances to take the lead in the opening half. Palacios was their most dangerous player, carving out three dangerous chances that just failed to result in a goal. On the stroke of half-time, Gonzalo had a chance to give the reserves the lead, but Fuoli punched his effort wide.
Our team's best chance of the game came after the restart. Palacios struck the crossbar and the ball rebounded very close to the goal line. Castilla were searching for the opener and finally made the breakthrough in the 61st minute. Nico Paz picked up a loose ball in the box after another good chance for Castilla, and he unleashed a powerful shot that the keeper was unable to keep out.
Peter clinched the game in the 83rd minute
Despite Madrid's dominance, San Fernando levelled the match in the 78th minute with one of their first chances of the match. Our team, however, refused to give up after their opponents' equaliser and were back in the lead soon after thanks to Peter's goal. A great pull back pass from Obrador and the winger beat Fuoli to give Castilla the three points.
