Castilla kick off their pre-season with a three-way meeting against Granada and Xerez Deportivo
The academy team lost one and drew one in their first two warm-up games at the Chapín stadium (Jerez).
Real Madrid Castilla were unable to get off to a winning start in the three-team warm-up fixtures against Granada and Xerez Deportivo. The academy side performed well in their first two preparation games played at the Chapín stadium, despite losing the first and then drawing the second.
Castilla 0-1 Granada
The madridistas carved out the game’s first openings, with Peter and Leiva going close, but Granada took the lead early on through Uzuni in the 10th minute. Midway through the first half saw Raúl’s charges create their best chances as they went in search of an equaliser, but the opposition defence was well drilled. The Madrid second-string side kept applying the pressure and it almost paid off first after a headed effort from Carrillo on 33’ and seven minutes later when Arribas’ long-range effort missed the target. Despite the Whites’ pressure, the 45-minute game ended in a defeat.
